Stitching Gifts

Baby Onesie

I made a onesie for a baby girl with a flower that has an embroidered stem.

As the pages of our lives turn we find ourselves consistently closing old chapters and beginning new ones.

Currently I feel like I am in the Baby Chapter.  Don’t get excited and start rumors. I’m not pregnant; but a know a few hundred ladies who are. Even more exciting and triumphant; a few of these ladies have now become mamas. (or mamas for the third time) In celebration I decided to make clothes for these kids. You know; I wanted to slave over a project for hours and give it to someone who might have outgrown it while I was busy making it.

Recently I picked up the talent of embroidery and I decided to employ it for this project.

I hand embroidered some onesies for those buns fresh from the ovens.

The one featured above is for a sweet baby girl with a sweet mama. The ones below are a bit of a different story.

Vegas Baby Onesie

You begin to take baby gifts to another level when you design the image based on a tattoo that you and your friends got as a joke.

So the story behind these onesies goes like this…This one time during college…Las Vegas…tattoos…eleven years later…baby mamas…me making onesies for the baby-mamas with the Vegas tattoos.

Screen Shot 2014-02-12 at 1.33.36 PMThere’s never a time too early in one’s life to start paying homage to Vince Vaughn.

And for all of you reading this who may not know my friends from college I would like to make a clarification. They are sweet mamas with sweet babies too. Being friends with me, and having maybe been ridiculous in their college years, can’t influence that.

I’m proud of all of them.

Excuse me. I’ve got to go to the post office now and mail these gifts, before the babies double in size.
